Trees budding, Core ArboreteumWe had a perfect Sunday the day of our last botanical drawing class (although we will be starting the second session soon.)  After cappuccino and chocolate croissants, we headed to Morgantown to class, equipped with assorted vegetables for the final project, a still life.  After class, in the depths of the Creative Arts Center, we took a picnic supper – bread, cheese, lemonade, fruit – across the road to the University’s Core Arboretum, where we walked down the hill to the Monongahela.  It was cool but sunny, and there were tress budding and a few wildflowers just starting.  We had just enough time to hike back up (the mountainside is quite steep there) to the CAC for the doors to open for a taping of Mountain Stage.  Loudon Wainwright III and some fine bluegrass acts were playing.  If you’re not a regular listener, the show will be aired the week starting May 14, or you can eventually listen to the podcast.  We are the ones applauding about halfway back stage right.
